# Discord Channel & Alert

By adding the TaskOn bot to your server, your community members can instantly view task updates, significantly boosting community engagement.

### Getting Started

If you have not added TaskOn Bot to your Discord Server yet, please refer to the tutorial: [**How to Add TaskOn Discord Bot**](/guide-book/community-hub/bot-integration/discord-integration/how-to-add-taskon-discord-bot.md)**.**

1. Enter your Discord Server and click "+".

2. Choose "`Text`", name the channel (for example, *taskon updates*, *taskon quests*). Then, click "`Create Channel`".

3. Back to TaskOn Discord Settings Webpage. Click "Send Notification", choose Channels, and choose mention roles, then click "Save".

Please note that if you want TaskOn Bot to send messages in channel, you need to grant bot the following permissions.
